In today’s day and age, there are companies starting up and shutting down every other day. For project creators, it’s fun to start new things, but for their customers who rely on their services, it damages trust and makes it harder for them to trust new platforms in the future. We all know how a single bad experience can alter future experiences, right?

Here are some rules we stick by:

1. Data Handling 📋

Since our launch, we made it clear that we will never sell or share your data, ever. Being a paid service means we don’t have to sell every point of data about you in order to survive as a business. Additionally, on our free plans (when they launch), we’ll never share or sell data either. If (in the event we are acquired), we will ensure that the new owners share the same views on privacy. Regardless, no ads or data-sharing.

We’ll only use non-identifiable data in our marketing material, for example, which genres are uploaded to most to Musicspace, or which countries our artists are from. If it involves your name or your brand, we will ask your permission explicitly.

2. For The Long Run ♥️

Musicspace is a profitable and entirely bootstrapped platform. Meaning we have no outside funding or investors who require us to meet “x” targets or grow by “x” customers. You guys are musicians, not numbers on a spreadsheet. Thankfully, Musicspace is able to grow comfortably, and more importantly, we can provide you with a platform for years and years to come without having to sacrifice our morals to appease others.

3. Making Your Life Easier 🧘‍♂️

We launched Musicspace with a single feature,catalog management. Over the months since our launch, we introduced two more valuable features: Milestones - A simple way to document your career/journey, and Protect, a simple Copyright protection tool to protect your song files, lyrics, and other creative work.

As our company grows, we aim to add more features that help ease the mental load of managing a music career.

4. Our Goal Is To Simplify, Not Complicate 🍃

One reason why we pay little attention to competitors is because most companies are focussed on adding new features every quarter, almost in fear as so to keep their users on their platform. We get it, new features are cool, but our goal is to take away from your stress, not add to it.

We don’t want to build a million features you’ll never use, which just involves us inflating our pricing. We’ll build really useful features that work really well, once again, to make your life easier over time.

5. Reward Growth

If you’re a user or someone familiar with our brand, you’ll know that our most expensive plan is just $29.99/month. That’s to store unlimited tracks on our platform, forever. Whether you have 200 tracks or 200,000, we’ll store it.

Sadly, we see a lot of platforms charging way more per month for less than unlimited track storage, and the reality is: There’s no need to charge that much.

Our ethos is quite simple: If our users’ catalogs are growing, we shouldn’t punish them with high costs, but reward them with affordable costs. Our hope is that your catalogs grow so large that your royalties easily cover your subscription.
