Picture this: You’re on a sunny vacation enjoying the views thanks to your hard-earned royalties and then you’re interrupted by your attorney telling you, “someone has filed a copyright claim against your song “X”. Not really something you ever want to run into, right?

So we created a new way to help protect your work.

Introducing, Musicspace Protect 🔐

Musicspace protect is a new service we’ll be launching in May 2020. Protect is a simple Copyright registration tool that allows artists and producers to protect their lyrics, songs, websites, cover arts, photography and music videos, and other creative work. Read below to see how it works.

How it works:

1. Enter Your Details

To begin, simply enter the details of the work you wish to protect such as: Copyright Owner details, your Full Legal Name, Some information about the work and the release date.

2. Upload your files

Next, you’ll be able to name your creative work and upload any files you wish to protect. This can be lyrics, songs, cover arts, photography owned/taken by you, music videos, etc

3. Pay & Done

Simply process a small one-time payment of $2.50 (per piece of work protected) and you’re done! One small fee per work protected. Please note: Pricing will be locked to $2.50 from the launch date for 12-months, then will increase to $3 per protected work after the 12 month period.

Once you’ve paid, we’ll then generate you a time, date and I.P Address-stamped “Certificate Of Copyright Registration” for you view any time from within your dashboard. Oh, and we’ll safely store your certificates and files forever.

Should you ever run into a legal battle and require that little extra layer of support, Musicspace can provide you with a sworn affidavit providing proof of your time, date and IP-stamped Copyright Registrations on our servers to the court.

FAQ’s on Musicspace Protect

Q1: Is Musicspace Protect covered in my plan?

No. Musicspace Protect is a one-off fee in addition to your monthly subscription plan. It’s also totally optional, so you can register any creative work whenever you please.

Q2: What file size can I upload?

You can upload files with a maximum file size of 50mb. If your file is larger than this limit, please try using compression software.

Q3: Is it really lifetime protection?

Absolutely. Once you upload your files to Musicspace Protect, they will be stored securely on our servers, along with your certificates.

Q4: What If I Cancel my Musicspace subscription?

If you cancel your Musicspace subscription, your copyright registrations will still be protected. However, you just won’t be able to register any new work – Please also note, your work, account and all data associated with you will be wiped off our servers if you do not re-subscribe within 60-days of canceling your subscription. We will not be able to provide you with an affidavit if you cancel your Musicspace subscription.

Q5: How do I pay?

Since you need to be a Musicspace user to register your work with Musicspace Protect, you will see a pop-up window simply asking you to pay immediately - We have your payment info on our system through Stripe, which means paying for your work will take seconds.
